The annual Rock U Live show and Christmas performance are major highlights in our year, and the weekly lessons with Jared are always productive. The teachers are patient and yet challenge our kids. The environment is so supportive, my kids look forward to lessons each week. The performances are next level, with a rock concert each year where the kids feel like celebrities. It is so much fun for the kids and parents - you’ll dread going to other peoples recitals after seeing how fun these are. The teachers are fun and engaging and the opportunities for preforming in live shows are one of my favorite things about Rock U. My daughter has been taking lessons here for several years and the growth I have seen in her as a musician and performer is nothing short of amazing. When she first started taking lessons with Jared she would not sing in front of anyone! She was so shy! Jared brought out the best in her and helped to build her self confidence.  Just last month she held her first concert for her band and so many people came to see her! Her confidence on stage was like night and day from the first time she preformed. She is now writing her own music thanks to Jared who has from day one always encouraged her to write her own music and to believe in herself! The kind you want to have helping the ones you love. This is huge. They also put on a stellar concert/recital in the summer "Rock U Live" what a great experience for a student to get to be on stage like that. Thank you Rock U and crew for all you do!!

What types of music lessons do you offer?

Rock U offers private lessons in guitar, piano, drums, voice, bass, and ukulele, plus songwriting, performance coaching, and production training.

Lesson availability in Draper, UT?

We offer lessons 5 days a week with flexible times to fit your schedule. Contact us to see current openings.

Do I need my own instrument?

For most lessons, yes. We can help you find affordable options to rent or buy if you don’t have one yet. Regular practice at home is crucial for progress. Renting or borrowing is acceptable short-term, but committed students must have their own instrument.

What kind of instrument should I buy?

Rock U recommends purchasing from reputable local dealers—not big box stores like Walmart, Target, or Costco. Quality instruments are more enjoyable to play and support retention.

What are your operating hours?

We are open from 2 PM to 10 PM, Monday to Thursday. 2PM to 5 PM on Fridays. We’re closed on Saturday and Sunday. Holiday hours may vary, so please call for specific information on those dates.

Do students get to perform?

Yes! We host regular recitals and performance opportunities for students to showcase their progress. Including our annual Rock U Live concert series.

Do you teach beginners?

Absolutely. Many of our students start with no prior experience — we tailor lessons to each student’s goals and skill level.

What ages do you teach?

We teach students as young as 4 years old, all the way through adult learners.

How long are lessons, and when do they occur?

Lessons are 30-minute private sessions that occur weekly, at the same day and time each week. Multiple instruments or extended sessions can be booked back-to-back, subject to availability.
