Policies and FAQ
Even rock stars have to read the fine print.
- Private 30-minute lessons held weekly at the same time/day.
- Students can sign up for additional weekly lessons or multiple instruments (back-to-back or on different days, based on availability).
- Lessons are organized into 12 Terms per year.
- Each Term = 4 lessons / 4 weeks.
- Tuition is charged per Term.
- Tuition is auto-paid on the 5th of each month via ACH.
- No credit/debit cards, cash, or mobile payments accepted.
- Returned payment fee: $25; 30+ days overdue = $50 late fee and potential cancellation.
- Students own their weekly time slot.
- No make-up lessons or credits for missed classes.
- Families may send someone else in place (e.g., sibling, parent, friend).
- You may trade lesson times with other students (Rock U does not facilitate).
- 48 paid lessons/year, leaving 4 unpaid weeks off:
- 1 week Spring Break (Canyons School District)
- 2 weeks Winter Break (Christmas/New Year)
- 1 week Instructor-selected
- Holiday Closures (with credit):
- New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Pioneer Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Halloween (after 5pm), Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve
- Note: Some holidays fall during Winter Break and do not qualify for credits.
- Instruments: Guitar, Piano, Drums, Voice, Bass, Ukulele
- Extras: Rock Band classes, artist development, songwriting, performance coaching, music production, theory.
- Rock U Records: Professional recording + publishing guidance (Spotify, Apple Music, etc.)
- Lessons are ongoing Term-to-Term.
- To cancel, provide FULL TERM NOTICE to the office (not instructor) in person or via email: RockUStaci@gmail.com
- After notice: complete current + 1 full Term (4-8 more lessons).
- First & Final Term tuition is due at signup.
- Students must have their own instrument to practice between lessons.
- Rent or borrow if unsure about long-term commitment.
- Avoid toy-quality instruments (e.g., Wal-Mart/Costco).
- Recommended practice:
- Beginners: 20 mins/day, 5 days/week
- Intermediate+: 30+ mins/day
- Offered for friends/family groups.
- Effective if all participants are equally committed.
- Many start in groups and later transition to private lessons.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- Yes! Instructors blend foundational techniques with songs you enjoy.
- Around 8 years old, but younger students (age 4+) are welcome with engaged parent involvement.
- 1x per week minimum. Additional time can be scheduled.
- Auto ACH on the 5th monthly.
- No, full term notice required.
